Weeden Island Preserve
At the front entrance of the preserve.

They have a awesome indoor nature center that explained the history of Weeden Island Preserve. It's so nice trying new things and stumbling upon awesome places.

Read below.

This section was how the people back then lived.
Below is the food they caught, picked etc.

Food they ate.

They used big tree branched to make canoes but first they had to burn the inside out.

Timeline of History

D Man and Daddy have constructed a clay pot, in those days it was alot more work for the people that lived on Weeden Island.

Ducky decided she wanted to construct the clay pot too, she did it all by herself.

Ducky's finished the pot. She was very proud of herself and so were we.

Ducky with some of the animals that lived in the preserve.

They had nature trails, this was in front of one of them. We were trying to get to the Look Out Tower.

We didn't compete but we get to see D Man's and Ducky's favorite dolphin "Winter" from Dolphin Tale.
This is the front entrance.

This was really cool, this one Stingray keep coming up to our children. The staff told us his name is Where's Waldo because he hids in the sand from people but he was very social that day with our children. The children named him "Teddy" because he was soft.

Homeschool Uncooking Class 2nd Class

This month we made Banana Crunchy Treat.
Very yummy and very healthy for you. Thank you Rene for teaching our
children a healthier way of living.

D Man helping to set up, he is putting the recipe under the mats for the class.

Ducky helping out to, she is putting the bowls out for the class.

These are all the ingredients for the Banana Crunchy Treat.

Rene taught us to put all the dry ingredients in one bowl first so the wet won't stick to the dry.
First was the carob powder, this is what Ducky is putting in her bowl.

These are buckwheat groats, crunchy. Rene soaked them only for 15 minutes. Yum.

D Man is putting in the Rolled Oats.

Ducky is putting in the rolled oats.

These are the sunflower seeds that were soaked for 8 hours.

Then came the raisins.

Now it's time for the wet ingredients. Rene cutting the bananas in half, full of potassium.

Ducky mashing the banana.

Mashed Banana.

Both Dry and Wet Ingredients.

D Man helping his sister with the mashing of the banana. Great helping hands.

This is the coconut nectar, its pretty thick but better for you than agave.

D Man getting his coconut nectar.

Next came the Raw Almond Butter.

Now take your two bowls and mix them together.
I love D Man's expression.

You can make balls or cookies out of this mixture, We all tried it and it was delicious.

It wouldn't be fun without a mess,right?
