FISHER OF MEN

Our son loves to fish. He has been in a fishing club with our homeschool group this year. But every time he catches a fish I think of this verse:

Matthew 4:19
"Come, follow me", Jesus said, "and I will send you out to fish for people."

First Jesus was saying "Follow Him", Do you want to follow the ways of the Jesus?

Second, He wants those who know him to be fishers of men. This is the commission to all believers. Sharing the gospel with all you come in contact with. Planting seeds into peoples hearts and letting Jesus do the rest. Pouring into others and sharing your story( Testimony). When you are real with people they will listen to your story which then lead into to sharing the gospel. Its really just sharing the love of Jesus in your life that will change their hearts for Jesus!!!!

So we are Called to share this gospel with EVERYONE!!!!!

Thank you Jesus!!!!

MASKING TAPE THREE STORY HOUSE/ HOBBIT HOUSE

I love this idea that I found on Almost Unschoolers Blog. First you use your masking tape to make the base of the house. I only had the thick one but it worked. But I'm sure the thinner one is better:)

Ducky, then made three stories in the house with furniture, blankets, tables, stairs and bathroom. Our daughter has several Calico Critters that she uses to play with this masking tape home. I love that she can use her imagination and you only need three simple items: Masking Tape, carpet and your mind.

This is DMan's Hobbit house. It from the book The Hobbit. Hobbit means "comfort place" to relax, That sounds good to me!!!!

This is the inside of his Hobbit House:)

Thank you Heavenly Father for the ability to homeschool our children. Its a blessing to see them use their imaginations. And most importantly Have Fun throughout their day!!!!

PEACE HILL PRESS FIRST LANGUAGE LESSONS LEVEL 2

First Language Lesson has been the only grammar that I have used. I love the gentle approach. The Level 2 is all oral which I love. First Language Lessons reviews precious lessons throughout the whole book. Repetion is important when you are trying to learn. Level 2 has copy work, poem memorization, story narration, dictation and much more. My personal experience has been that First Language Lessons has taught our children so much. I wouldn't start grammar until I found something that was gentle with very little writing. Now our children can tell you several poems, narrate back to you what they have learned, tell you what a noun, verb, pronoun, preposition is and much more. Although this suggests that this book is for grade 2, we didn't start this book until 5th and 3rd grade. You can start it in 2nd grade but we have been taking our time on this subject. Below are some examples of our work throughout the year. Thank you to Peace Hill Press for letting us review such a wonderful product.

Linking Verbs
This was one of the enrichment activity, love because its a hands on activity. The enrichment activity is after each lesson to enhance the lesson.

A complete grammar text for young students, First Language Lessons for the Well-Trained Mind, Level 2 uses dictation, narration, picture study, and other classical techniques to develop language ability.
Originally published along with the first level of First Language Lessons as a single volume, Level 2 has been redesigned as a simple-to-use one-year program.

CANDY WRAPPER LUNCH BOX

Ducky and her friend have been doing a handicraft while DMan is at Lego Class. Ducky did an amazing craft.

Materials needed:
Lunch Box
Saved Candy Wrappers
Glue
Water
Paint Brush to spread glue

Take your glue mixture and paint glue onto the candy wrappers. Then put candy wrappers onto your lunch box. Cover the whole lunch box with the candy wrappers. The finished product is so cute. You can also use cans and cover them with candy wrappers for gifts. I love this concept and its thrifty.

Ducky and Her friend with part of there lunch done. The smiles says it all!!!!

QUINOA AND VEGGIES MASON JAR MEALS FOR CAMPING OR ON THE GO HEALTHY MEAL

Our first camping I decided to make mason jars meals. They are easy to store and I felt so good for the weekend eating healthy food that is good for my body:)

Ingredients needed:
Quinoa-Cooked( 1 to 2 serving)
1/2 of a red onion
A whole Red Pepper
A can of Corn
A can of Black Beans
Olive Oil ( as much as you desire)
Vinegar ( as much as you desire)
1/4 cup of Lime
Salt and Pepper( as desired)
Avocado ( on a camping trip just bring one uncut and cut it when needed).

Combine all ingredients into a bowl and then put into your mason jars for a easy lunch for camping or just when you need a healthy meal on the go.

THE BEST GLUTEN FREE BREAD

I have been experimenting with new recipes. I love this homemade gluten free bread from Unrefined Kitchen. I love that this recipe because it can be made without a bread maker. Just a loaf pan, your ingredients and an stove.

Ingredients needed:
3/4 cup of coconut flour ( You could use all purpose gluten free flour too).
1/2 cup of grounded flax seed.
1/2 cup of almonds
1/2 cup of arrowroot powder ( which is a thickener)
1 teaspoon of salt
2 teaspoons of baking soda
1/2 cup of applesauce
1/4 cup of coconut oil ( melted)
6 eggs
2 tablespoons of honey

Once you buy the flour you can make probably three loafs with the bag of flour.

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350
Combine dry ingredients in one bowl
Combine wet ingredients in another bowl( separate from dry ingredients)
Grease pan and then pour batter into loaf pan.
Bake at 350 for 35 to 45 minutes

If you are gluten free you will love this moist bread. I brought it to church one night and it was all gone.

And its kid approved!!!!
