Juicing to Loss Weight

I'm so excited, I started juicing about 2 months ago. I just juiced for 30 days with very little food in my diet. I have a VitaMix and I love juicing in it because you get whole ingredients when juicing. After the 30 days I had to go back to foods for a few weeks, the piece on my VitaMix broke and needed it fixed. My plan was small at first was only 10 days, then 20 days and then 30 days. I had made my goal and I was so happy. But when I went back to foods I was craving the juice. I had to wait for VitaMix to come back. After 10 days I got it back, I was so excited to go back to juicing. My body was totally craving it the whole time. Now I still juice 3 meals of my day, eating a little at night. The juice is very satisfying.

Here is the recipe I use:
Celery( 1 to 2 stalks)
Spinach( 1 to 2 handfuls)
Kale( 1 leave)
Pineapple ( slice of Pineapple with core)
Lemon( 1 slice)
Apple( core and all)
Banana(1/2)
Chia or Hemp( I like Chia better) for protein
Water
Ice

To this date I have lost 18 pounds in 2 months. I'm so happy with juicing and am feeling amazing. I have to say the first 5 days were hard and if you decide to do this, then have a lot of grace for yourself. Its ok if you have a handful of almonds or a salad. I did. This is the first time in 12 years that I was able to loss anything, and I'm so excited. I walked everyday and didn't lose a pound. And now I have found what works. I still have a few more pounds to go but I know now that I can do it, of course with God's Help!!!!!

RAW KEY LIME PIE RECIPE

I have been searching the web for yummy raw recipes and I found a keeper. I have shared this recipe with several people and everyone of them has loved it.

This is the crust of the Key Lime Pie.

Ingredients:

1 cup raw, unsalted macadamia nuts
1/2 cup coconut flakes
4-5 dates
Pinch of salt
Blend in a VitaMix(Blender) until the dough sticks together well, don't over process.  Place your mixture into your pie pan and press down to stick together.

Next your want to prepare the filling for your pie.

Filling:
1 avocado
Juice of 2 limes
3 Tbsp agave nectar (or honey or whatever liquid sweetener you prefer)
3 Tbsp melted coconut oil
Pinch of salt

Blend well, adjust sweetness to your taste.  Scrape into bowl with pressed crust and let it chill in the fridge for several hours, until firm.  You can speed up the process in the freezer but make sure you slice it before it gets too frozen.

After your Key Lime Pie has chilled it is ready to eat. Our Key Lime Pie is one of our favorite's in our house. Our son says he wants me to make this for his birthday. That says alot. I have made this pie several times and I feel so good feeding this to our children and they are still eating something sweet but very healthy:)

Have a Blessed Day!!!!

Fruit and Salad Bar

A friend of mine shared this with me and I thought I would share it with you.
I bought Rubbermaid containers at Walmart. I also went to Costco and bought a bunch of fruits and veggies and washed all the fruit and put it into the Huge Rubbermaid container and when you want to eat you can pull this container out of the refrigerator and have something healthy to eat.

You do the same thing with the lettuce but I wouldn't cut this much lettuce up because it will go bad fast. I would buy a little smaller container(showed below) and wash lettuce and fill container for your salad bar.

Then I bought different topping for our salad bar. Each week you switch your toppings. Have your children go with each week to pick new toppings.

D Man with the Salad Bar that is fully prepared and gives you NO excuse to eat healthy.

Each person in our house likes different topping but I feel good either way because I'm giving them great healthy food.

Would you try this at your house?
